Awarding Criteria:  Will be awarded to a senior who plans on pursuing a career in fire science or a related field

This scholarship, established in 2005, is presented by the union of professional firefighters in Chelmsford.  The union is excited to encourage and promote the education of young men and women desiring to enter some aspect of the fire service.

The call to a career of fire prevention, fire suppression, and related emergency medical care is a critical one in the life of any community.  It takes a unique personality, courage, and a strong combination of education and acquired physical skills to intentionally enter a life threatening situation in order to save people of all ages and property of all kinds.

It is with all this in mind that the Chelmsford Firefighters’ Union #1839 is glad to offer a scholarship to a deserving high school senior with these career goals in mind.
