Leonora K. Battles was born in South Chelmsford late in the nineteenth century, the daughter of John Q. and Mary Malvin Battles.

Miss Battles lived in Dunstable and was an elementary school teacher at the Morey School in Lowell for many years. She retired as a teacher from the Lowell Schools and passed away in 1941. 

Miss Battles’ interests included working as the Superintendent of the Sunday School at the Dunstable Congregational Church and teaching sewing through the 4-H.

Her fraternal activities included membership in the Molly Varnum chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Dunstable and Pamona Granges.
