Awarding Criteria: Will be awarded to a high-ranking senior who has performed outstanding service to the CHS Music Department
John Kerins graduated from Chelmsford High School with the Class of 1975. in high school, John was involved with the Drama Club and with the Music Department helping with the production of the annual musicals. During his senior year he was voted “Most Fun To Be With” by his classmates.
After high school John attended the University of Lowell and New York University. He then went into the restaurant business and managed Mickey Mantle’s famous restaurant in New York City. Here he had the opportunity to meet celebrities from the entertainment and sports world. His love for the theatre flourished in the environs of New York City. His untimely death left a deep void with his many friends both here in Chelmsford and in NewYork.
A group of friends decided to memorialize John by establishing this scholarship in his name with the hope that his fun-loving nature and his love for the theatre would remain well into the future.
