Awarding Criteria: Will be awarded to a deserving senior who plans to major in the field of communications
Matthew C. Nangle attended Chelmsford High School, graduating with the Class of 1995. During his years at Chelmsford High School, Matt was involved in a number of activities. He played volleyball for four years and belonged to SAGE, an environmental group that spearheaded a recycling program. Matt was a member of the National Honor Society and the French Honor Society. He also participated in the French Student Foreign Exchange program, spending a portion of his junior year in France. Matthew was elected Class Treasurer his senior year at Chelmsford High School.
Upon his graduation in 1995, Matt went on to study at the Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University. He graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Broadcast Journalism in 1999. Matt’s promising young life ended in an automobile accident in October of 1999.
Matthew’s family and friends established this scholarship to honor his memory, and at the same time offer some assistance to a deserving graduate of Chelmsford High School.
