Gary D. Gervais
Awarding Criteria: Will be awarded to a deserving senior who has earned a varsity letter in Cross-Country
Gary Gervais was born and brought up in Chelmsford, one of five children of Pauline and Oliver Gervais. When he was only 5 years old, tragedy struck his family with the passing of his father at the age of 45. As soon as he was old enough, Gary worked to help support his mother and siblings. After graduation from Nashoba Technical High School, he started his own construction business.
Gary married Phyllis Kecy (CHS ’76) in 1981, and they raised three sons: Greg (’02), Brian (’05) and Garret (‘08.) Gary was a devoted husband and loving father. He thoroughly enjoyed the time he spent coaching his sons in both hockey and baseball.
Gary was a successful businessman, managing Drum Hill Liquors with his wife for over 30 years. However, his family and friends were his top priority, and he was always generous with his time and resources. He passed away at age 53 and will be missed by many.
