Family and friends established the Ronald R. Wetmore Memorial Scholarship to honor the memory of their loved one, Ronnie. It is their hope to transform the joy of knowing this amazing young man and the sadness of his life cut short into a gift that may help others to achieve their goals and bring their own talents into the world.

Ronnie was always passionate about sports, participating in football, baseball, basketball and track while at Chelmsford High School and he was an avid golfer, snowboarder and water skier. He was an incredible athlete, and a wonderful team player both on and off the field. He never felt the desire to be in the spotlight and was always satisfied to play any position where his coach and team needed him.

Music was another passion for him. He loved classic rock of the 60’s and 70’s, with favorites including Led Zepplin, Tom Petty, The Doors, Allman Brothers, and Steve Miller Band to name just a few.

Ronnie formed bonds of friendship with teammates and classmates that withstood the test of time. Ronnie was fun and funny, genuine, pleasant, respectful and polite young man. These traits made him a very popular and respected teammate and friend.

This scholarship is presented in Ronnie’s name to a deserving senior who has won a varsity letter in football and best exemplifies the importance of team spirit and dedication to the needs of the team.
