1.  How much must I donate to establish a designated scholarship?
A minimum donation of $5000 is required to establish a basic scholarship award of approximately $250.

2. May I add value to the scholarship after it's established?

Yes, donations may be made to a designated scholarship or the general scholarship fund at any time. Donors may send their donations to: Chelmsford High School Alumni Association 200 Richardson Rd Chelmsford, MA 01863 Checks shall be made out to "CHSAA Endowment Fund". Be sure to note which scholarship you wish to support with your contribution.

3. How can I be assured that the scholarship will be awarded to a worthy student?
The CHSAA Board of Directors appoints a scholarship committee composed of seven alumni association members. Two of these committee members are also members of the CHSAA Board. This committee follows established guidelines and scholarship criteria to determine award recipients.

4. When are the scholarships given to students?

Awards are presented to the recipients at a public awards night ceremony at Chelmsford High School in the spring. All donors are invited and encouraged to attend.

5. What is the average scholarship award?
Awards will vary depending upon several factors. For example:
a) The principal amount of the scholarship.
b) The interest accrued during the previous year.
c) Established criteria of the particular scholarship.

6. Will my scholarship award always be the same amount?

7. Do I need to be involved with the selection process for the scholarship winner?

No, the only requirement beyond the initial donation of the scholarship principal and the naming of a designated scholarship for a donor is the establishing of the award criteria in conjunction with the CHSAA Board of Directors. All awards will be determined by the scholarship committee as appointed by the CHSAA Board of Directors.

8. Will I be told who won my scholarship?
Yes, you will receive a letter prior to the annual awards night ceremony informing you about the recipient and inviting you to attend the ceremony.

9. Will the recipient of my scholarship understand its origin?

Yes, each scholarship recipient receives a one page biographical sketch of the scholarship honoree.
