Carolyn M. Clancy

Carolyn's long and successful career in business, her generous spirit and commitment to helping others, as well as her competitive athletic drive are some of the qualifications that make her a most deserving mmeber of the CHSAA Hall of Fame.

Carolyn was an excellent student and an active member of the CHS class of 1978. She was a student representative and also a member of the National Honor Society, the French Honor Society, the Captains Council, and varsity club. For four years, Carolyn was a standout field hockey player and was co-captain of the team her senior year. She was recognized with numerous awards including 1977 All State Field Hockey Team, Merrimack Valley All League Team 1976 and 1977, and twice named MVP.

After completing her education at Chelmsford High School, Carolyn went on to pusue her undergraduate degree in business at Assumption College in Worcester, Massachusetts. An early beneficiary of Title IX, Carolyn was a standout field hockey player there and was inducted to the Assumption College Athletic Hall of Fame in 2002.

Carolyn graduated Magna Cum Laud from Assumption College with a B.A. in Business and Mathematics and then entered the business world as an expeditor for Sanders Associates in Nashua, New Hampshire. From there she worked for several companies over the years in Massachusetts including Honeywell, Barry Controls, and A.W. Chesterton Company, in the field of marketing. Along the way, Carolyn pursued her degree in Business Management earning her MBA from Babson College in 1989. Eventually, in 1999 she would go on to enter the financial services industry at Fidelity Investments where she is currently employed. From 2011 to 2017 Carolyn held the position of Executive Vice President/Head of Funds Network and most recently she has been appointed as Executive Vice President/Head of Broker-Dealer Segment for Fidelity.

As an employee of Fidelity, Carolyn has not only grown as a woman in the business field but has also served as a role model and mentor to numerous Fidelity employees as well as others seeking careers in business. She leads the Fidelity Women's Networking Group and is a part of an impressive collection of business and educational leaders. Carolyn never hesitates to encourage and help aspiring students to find internships and pursue careers in not only the field of business, but also many other professional opportunities.

Because she recognizes the impact others have had in her life, Carolyn has made a commitemnt to being a leader and an inspiration to those who could benefit from her knowledge, experience, and good fortune. She serves on numerous boards including Big Sister Association of Greater Boston, Assumption College Board of Trustees, and Hope on the Harbor Alzheimer's Execitive Dinner Committee to name a few. She contributes generously to scholarship funds, including one she established in her parents' name for female athletes with financial need, as well as numerous charities dedicated to helping individuals in countless ways. In 2007 Carolyn was awarded the Jack Bresciani Outstanding Alumnus Award for her unselfish commitment to Assumption's ideals and spirit.

Carolyn’s life is full of trusted, meaningful connections with people, and generous, selfless acts to help all those in her life reach their full potential. Her reach has been far and the effects countless. She is an admired woman who unquestionably deserves a place in the Chelmsford High School Alumni Association Hall of Fame.
