J. Michael Chuma, Jr.  

Class of 1978

 

 

At Chelmsford High School Mike Chuma played football all four years. He was elected a Captain his senior year.  As a result of his efforts on the football field, he was chosen as a Lowell Sun All Star and was selected for both the Shriners and the Agannis All Star Games.

At UMass Amherst he received both a B.A. in the hospitality industry and a Masters of Business Administration. Having walked on as a football play in his freshman year, he was awarded a scholarship for his final three years. He was a member of the Kappa Sigma fraternity.

His business career has spanned the years from 1985 to the present, during which time he has evolved from an employee in the City of Atlanta assessors office to the position of Managing Director, Business Development Group of KMPG. In the intervening years he has presided over an investment group and owned a company that provided computer training for corporations. As a Managing Director  of KMPG at present, he is one of only 3 people from the business development group to attain this position.

At his church he has been involved in a men's ministry group. In the community, he has coached over 50 different teams of youth sports: football, baseball, basketball, and soccer. His Pop Warner 8th grade team was the New England Champion and went to Orlando for the National Championship playoffs in 2009.
